About this source
CryptoScamDB is an open community-curated registry of cryptocurrency scams: fake exchanges, phishing landing pages, Ponzi schemes, fraudulent giveaway addresses, and impersonation campaigns. Each entry is a community report, often backed by screenshots and victim accounts on the linked subreddit thread or Twitter post. We ingest the BTC-applicable subset of their blacklist YAML (1,094 addresses).
How we got the data
Cloned from CryptoScamDB/blacklist on GitHub. data/urls.yaml parsed at load time, BTC subset retained, per-entry incident URL preserved as source_ref.
Why this confidence
Community-curated quality is uneven. Some reports include incident URLs, screenshots, and chain-history evidence; others are bare reports with no provenance. 0.75 reflects the median case: probably real, occasionally bunk.
License & attribution
Permissive open-data license. We retain the per-entry incident URL so anyone can audit the original community report.
Sample addresses
python tools/build_labels_db.py --update --only cryptoscamdb
to populate it.
